In order for the landscaper, architect or garden landscaper to help you (or you want our service) use these examples as a guide:
- Swimspa full immersion (level with the floor or edge of the swimspa looking out)
- Partial immersion (partially immersed swim spa with long ABS base plate and technical components raised inside the swim spa)
- Only partial conversion
- Free standing (not recessed Swim Spa)
- Transportation alternatives
- Condition of the garden, place of installation (subsoil and power supply of the swim spa).
1) Swim spa full immersion (floor level or edge of the swim spa looking out).
Probably the most popular option in the first train of planning is the full immersion. You always excavate the dimension of the Swim Spa plus 150 cm in width and depth. Using the example of a 4-meter Swim Spa, which is 2.3 m wide, this would be 5.5 m x 3.8 m to be excavated.
This is followed by 24 hollow bricks, which lead to a compound masonry and then exactly 50cm remain around the Swim Spa as an inspection shaft when the Swim Spa is centered. This shaft is then covered with WPC, wood or other variants. To prevent the space in between from being flooded with rainwater or dirty water, gravel is recommended as flooring. In the case of concrete or the like, drainage, pump shaft or drain are necessary). We will be happy to provide you with a sketch, please feel free to ask.
2) Partial immersion (partially immersed swim spa with long ABS bottom plate and technical components lifted inside the swim spa).
The often 2nd step in the development of the garden plan is the partial sinking, so that the swimspa does not look so bulky, but still provides the necessary help to get in and out (the edge of the swimspa). However, the effort and construction in the garden remains the same here. So here, too, must be excavated, and the depth adjusted. The cover in the area of the inspection shaft should also be mounted here so that it can be easily removed. From an ergonomic point of view, this is the best option, as you are working at ground level when getting in and out. Also keep in mind the high age here so that you can get in and out easily. Small hint here is the wind itself, which can not blow tree debris and dirt into the pool.
3.) Only partial remodeling
Integrating a swimspa on a slope or a height difference is a harmonious implementation in the existing construction project. With a whirlpool it is no problem to place it on the slope, with a swimspa please leave 50cm space as revision layer. An outdoor whirlpool can be moved here without any problems. With slopes it can also be that L-stones are set, so that nothing can slip off, here we help you accordingly gladly and likewise we make the complete development with you locally in self-direction.
4.) Free standing (not recessed Swim Spa).
Almost all outdoor hot tubs are placed freely in the garden, on the terrace or indoor. This is also being used more and more for swimspas, as it keeps the extra cost very low. Our outdoor whirlpools and swimspas vary between 73-160cm and you have to keep in mind that it looks very chunky, depending on the place of installation and garden design. We will be very happy to help you to make the overall picture perfect.
5.) Transport alternatives to the installation site
We offer you many alternatives in house, by means of shipping delivery, or also our installation service with qualified personnel, so that you have nothing to do with the installation. We will train you on site and show you the settings and the variety of Balboa systems.
With our aids, especially from our company, we easily manage to steer the outdoor hot tub through your garden, no matter if it is lawn, gravel or meadow. It is adjusted on edge by thick plastic tires and two-axle base.
Furthermore, we always have one of our two truck cranes in use or take a local crane provider at your site. The advantage in house is that the operation is pure loading and unloading and we do not need permission from the municipalities.
In case of dead ends within Germany it can be very expensive, because police, fire department and ambulance will be present. Feel free to ask about our delivery services.
If all else fails, we take a helicopter, which is the most expensive option (about 6000-8000 euros) , in Switzerland it is much cheaper.
6) Condition of the garden, place of installation (subsoil and power supply of the swim spa).
Whirlpools and swim spas need about 50-60cm distance from the wall or other objects. For the outdoor hot tubs you can also do without it, because they are easily moved, if there is a need. Keep in mind that a lift may be used, which also needs between 25/75cm, depending on the model. The thermal insulation cover is very high quality and thick, so you also need to calculate about 12cm.
Connection to the pool
Almost all models and brands in the house have the power connection directly under the display. But do not worry or worry about it here, because we always pull the power cable through the pool invisible. You leave enough cable on site so that the cable can be pulled through the pool to the display and we make the electrical connection. (If delivered with one of our service crews).
If you have ordered a staircase, plan about 65cm extra. The entrance is often also on the display side, a creation is then often present. Also consider the orientation of the outdoor hot tub. Make sure that you look at the favored seats and couches in the garden or on the cream sides of your basement or house. An outdoor hot tub is the focal point of any wellness oasis (in the garden or basement, it doesn't matter).
The subsoil
Compacted gravel (about 10cm for an outdoor whirlpool or 20cm for a swimspa) or gravel is very suitable, because the water can drain. Of course, other materials and types of wood are also conceivable as a base. It is also important here that the floor is and remains horizontal. Logically, a concrete foundation is also feasible or other ideas to which you please contact us.
Likewise, concrete or stone slabs are an option, here, too, the substrate must be horizontal.
A special case are terraces, because outdoor hot tubs should be horizontal, so that there is no slope in the water. Now terraces are often built with a slope of 4-6% to drain rainwater. We are happy to align this, with Styrodur as insulation and compensation in the case.
Power supply and connection
We require all spas and swim spas to have a permanent power connection, which can be from 230 volts and 16 amps (with C-fuse) to heavy current with 20 amps (C-fuse) and corresponding to 2.5-4.0 square. Please ask for your model and options. It is always important to have a ground fault circuit interrupter in the power box.
Each model has various openings to pull the cable into the outdoor hot tub or swimspa as desired, or we will make new openings as needed so the cable is not around the pool. Please do not run the power cable through the floor, only in case of emergency, because moving it will be problematic.
The water enters the pool cold through a water hose and directly through the filter so that the pipes do not draw air. A drain is always located at the pool and is marked DRAIN or DRAINAGE.
