In the case of a hot tub, it means that with a maximum of 1.2 KW we still give you 8 KW at freezing outdoor temperatures of -15 degrees Celsius. The heat pump recognizes with various algorithms that the outside temperature is 20 degrees Celsius and takes in that case only 200 watts to make up for the temperature difference. A normal spa often has a 3 KW heating element present, which can be thought of as an immersion heater. So the water flows past it at full speed, and that in turn means that the heating element takes 3 KW, but only puts out 800 watts, due to the flow speed of the water. In the end, we can say that with a heat pump in the winter brings 80% savings. In summer these values are tangent to a 100% value. Talk to a consultant about this.
